Welcome to the Utah Valley Cello Society! The Utah Valley Cello Society was formed in Fall 2012 by a group of local professional cellists. Our mission is to unite, support, provide resources, and create opportunities for local cellists. The society is open to all cellists and enthusiasts regardless of background, genre, skill level, or profession. Are you looking for ways to get involved? Attend and participate in our three annual events (Spring Concert, Fall Cello Day, and Christmas Play-in) or volunteer to help with these (and other). Do you know of other local cellists, educators, or enthusiasts who would also like to join and receive our quarterly newsletter? Forward this email to them! You can sign up here or manage your membership profile here. Coming up: Spring Concert On April 26, we will hold our first annual Spring Concert! It will be a fabulous recital featuring solo and ensemble cello pieces from the best and brightest cellists in the Valley. Not only will the music be outstanding, but it will be an opportunity for local cellists to unite in support of one another and share our passion and talent with our community! Details TBA. In addition to professional cellists, one high school student will win a $150 scholarship and a performance slot in the program. Would you, or someone you know, like to be that one student? Click here for audition information (Deadline March 15th). Recap: Christmas Play-in 2012 UVCS's first event was a success! Click here for pictures. Thanks to all the cellists (over 60!) and audience members who came! Also, special thanks to Kathy Bird for conducting! We're looking forward to next year for another great concert of Christmas music for cello choir. This event aims to unite cellists of all ages, levels, and backgrounds as they play together in a fun, informal concert. See you next year! Something to say?
